The BENIK team drivers are ready to do battle at the final race of the season, SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNats 20 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The team has a stacked lineup of 18 drivers set to compete in the Micro Swift, Mini Swift, and TaG Junior divisions. BENIK has been a dominant force throughout 2016 and hopes to continue their streak at the biggest karting event of the season. With multiple drivers sitting in championship contention, as well as drivers with a shot at podium appearances, BENIK will be pushing hard to get their team to the front of the field.
In the Micro Swift class, there will be four drivers piloting the BENIK chassis. UK driver Brandon Carr sits in championship contention for the category. A solid run this weekend will allow him to secure the series title, a great addition to the young driver’s resume. Elliot Cox is also in championship contention. After a disappointing run at Round 3 of the SUKSA Pro Tour, Cox will have to be on top of his game to close the gap and have a shot at the title. UK pilot Freddie Slater and South African A. Alibhai will join the BENIK team, looking to add strong results to their 2016 resumes.
The team will have twelve drivers in the Mini Swift category, making the BENIK Kart a dominate force in the field. Tyler Maxson is in contention for the series championship and will be battling hard to bring home the title. Devin Gomez sits in the fourth spot in the championship standings. With a strong finish, he may land himself on the championship podium as well. Teammate Reece Gold comes into the event fresh off of race wins in the ROK Cup, United States Pro Kart Series, and SKUSA series and will be hoping to end his season with another win. Two drivers from the UK, Joseph Taylor and Tom Edgar, will be piloting their BENIK chassis in the competitive field. Cole and Carsen Morgan, brothers who have recently dominated the karting scene on the West Coast, will look to continue their domination at the last race of the season. Santi Trisini will come into the event fresh off a win at the US Open in Las Vegas and will be looking to pull off back-to-back Vegas wins. Elio Giovane has made great progress since joining the BENIK team, earning multiple podium appearances so far. He is ready to battle for a solid result to end his season. Dutch driver Van Hoff will also be joining the BENIK team for this event. Teammate Anthony Willis hopes to add another SKUSA podium appearance to his record, supplementing his back-to-back SKUSA ProKart Challenge championships. Diego LaRoque comes into his final race of the season as the Mini Max World Champion after securing the victory at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Italy. LaRoque will be driving hard for a chance to earn another prestigious win at SuperNats 20.
The TaG Junior class will see two BENIK drivers in the field. Jonny Edgar comes into the event with a shot at the championship after posting strong results at both SKUSA Pro Tour events this year. Teammate Derek Carmenate will make an appearance on track for the first time since the Florida Winter Tour. Carmenate performed well throughout the series, leading the championship standings into the final round. He hopes to see similar success at SuperNats 20.
The BENIK team wants to wish all other BENIK drivers that will be racing as privateers or with satellite teams at SuperNats 20 good luck.
