Jay Howard’s Motorsports Driver Development program had another successful weekend as Braden Eves took the team to the top once again at the last round of the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup. The race took place September 23-25 at the New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana. Eves continued to employ his knowledge and experience gained from driver coach Jay Howard this past weekend and emerged victorious.
Eves secured the pole on Saturday in the IAME X30 Senior category and never looked back. He continued to sweep the events on Saturday, winning both heat races and taking the win in the final. Eves not only secured a race win for the weekend, he also stood on top of the podium for the X30 Senior championship, winning his first national title. He also took home the title for Yamaha Senior.
"We pushed hard to take maximum points on Saturday to take the pressure off on Sunday,” explained Jay Howard. “Sunday we did what we needed to do to win the championship. Braden executed perfectly, and I’m proud of what he achieved this year.”
In the IAME Mini Swift class, MDD driver Danny Dyszelski ran toward the front of the field all weekend. Dyszelski was the fastest driver all day in Friday’s official practice and continued to work hard all weekend to stay at the front of the field. Showing the speed to compete at the front of the field, Dyszelski would finish a strong fourth in Saturday’s main event.
MDD Junior drivers Jacob Abel, Dalton Peak, and Sam Paley all worked hard and drove great all weekend.
"Seeing our three junior drivers working together was great,” said Jay Howard. “Every one of them did a good job and worked together well as a team. The atmosphere in team MDD right now is perfect. I want to thank all of the drivers, parents and mechanics for their hard work and teamwork. This is a big part of why we are having a lot of success right now.”
