Fresh off their 2014 Florida Winter Tour campaign that included five victories, thirteen podium results and countless pole positions, Team Koene USA will head west to kick off the 2014 SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour. Taking on the Dallas Karting Complex facility in Caddo Mills, Texas, the Indiana-based squad will enter three competitors with the goal of carrying their momentum into the second quarter of 2014.

“As a team, we have had a great start to the 2014 season,” explained Team Principal Mike Maurini. “We have only been a team for just over 15 months now and we are coming together as whole more and more with each and every event weekend. We have not yet competed in a SKUSA Pro Tour event other than the SuperNationals in Las Vegas so we are anxious to get there and get started.”

Canadian pilot Roman DeAngelis will enter the TaG Junior category as a rookie but full of youth and enthusiasm as he heads to Dallas. Performing well at the Florida Winter Tour (FWT) and the opening round of the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS), DeAngelis has quickly come accustomed to the softer MG tires and hopes to put his experience gained from his first seven events as a junior to the test.

Brother duo of Michael and Nicholas d’Orlando will enter the TaG Cadet class. Michael, fresh of the FWT TaG Cadet championship, will look to continue his winning ways in SKUSA competition. Younger brother Nicholas continues to impress in his second season behind the wheel of a Mini Rok as he secured a third place result in the FWT title chase. Both brothers from New York will be a threat for race wins and podium results in Dallas.

While a few drivers will compete in the Texas Pro Kart Challenge event this coming weekend to test for the opening round of the Pro Tour, Team Koene USA will be active in their trackside support and sales program.
