MALUKAS RELEASED FROM TOP KART USA

On May 15th, 2015, Bill McLaughlin Jr., CEO, released David Malukas from all team activities.

“The reason for the release was due to several factors that we felt could not be overlooked. We have had a long relationship with the entire Malukas family and we are deeply saddened by the turn of events leading up to our decision. We as a company have come to the conclusion that there has not been enough interest in our current Rotax program to support the Rotax platform. We want to be clear that our decision was based on economics and not to be misconstrued as anything other than that. After viewing a photograph that circulated on social media we felt that the actions of disguising the kart with Top Kart decals was an action that we could not and will not overlook. We understand the importance of winning a Rotax championship for the Malukas family and wish them great success in that pursuit. For those that may be confused by the photos posted on social media, David’s 8th place finish was on a OTK chassis and not the developmental Rotax kart supplied by Top Kart.”

Bill McLaughlin Sr. goes on to say, “If you look at the results of most Rotax events, you will see the usual colors on the podium. Selling into a market that has a solid base by a singular manufacture in today’s economic climate makes very little sense. Our process was to develop a working chassis for the MOJO tire and we felt that the time was right we could support that market. While David was making good progress to that end, the pace was just too slow for his team. It deeply saddens us on a personal level, but we do wish David a continued success and only wish the best for his entire family.”

Top Kart USA will not let this hinder the development of the Top Kart racing chassis for all markets and age groups in any way. There are many Top Kart pilots in North America that will continue to represent the brand on podiums across the country. We are excited to continue our high level of customer support at all WKA, USPKS, SKUSA Pro Tour, and local KRA racing events.

The Top Kart USA headquarters is excited for the rest of 2015 season to quickly approach as they have great momentum after the strong beginning to the season at every event thus far.  With many drivers in the championship hunt in all of the top national series as well as local series, they will be putting all of their efforts into helping the drivers reach maximum performance to finish out the rest of the season and future seasons to come.

Top Kart USA would like to give a special thank you to each and every driver and team who is competing and supporting the Top Kart chassis brand. We appreciate your loyalty and efforts in being a huge part to the growing and developing brand of Top Kart.
