Heading to the final round of the Midwest ProKart Challenge, PCR pilot Sam Paley would be looking for the victory at the ultra-fast New Castle Motorsports Park (NCMP). Taking place just 45 minutes east of Indianapolis, Indiana, the TaG Cadet field would be the largest of the season as several newcomers would be present at the finale weekend with multiple drivers and teams testing for the upcoming Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals. Ending the Midwest ProKart Challenge on a high note, Paley would take home Saturday’s main event victory.
Utilizing an Ogden USA prepared Vortex Mini Rok, Paley would start out his Saturday morning by qualifying in the sixth position. Working hard throughout the heat races, Paley managed a pair of consistent results and would start the main event and his quest for victory from inside row three in P5. Quickly moving forward at the drop of the green flag, Paley would enter the final few circuits battling at the front of the field and would have a shot at the win as five drivers would try and position themselves in the best spot possible for the run down the long back straight.
Running two and three wide on the last straight before the checkered flag, Paley would be the victor taking advantage of a melee in the final corner. Utilizing the draft to perfection and staying out of trouble, Paley crossed the line with a fist pump to take the win as well as the fastest lap of the race and would celebrate on the podium later that weekend.
“I was unable to attend the event but I was watching on the Race Monitor app and was hoping for the best,” explained Ogden USA’s Paul Howard. “When the field cycled across the line for the final time, I could see that Sam had taken the win ahead of multiple national drivers. Everyone at Ogden USA would like to congratulate him on his victory.”
Jay Howard added, “I worked with Sam doing some one-on-one coaching with him a few weeks back, he is a talented driver and just needed the right equipment under him. Once that Ogden USA powered Vortex Mini RoK was strapped on, Sam got the result he deserved. I am happy for him and his family.”
