Traveling to the Ocala Gran Prix facility in North Central Florida, Parker Chase would enter the final rounds of the Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour (FWT) aboard a new product. Making the switch to the CRG chassis, the up-and-coming driver would see action in the talent-laden Rotax Mini Max field for rounds five and six of the series and would look to close his winter karting campaign on a high note.
"The CRG chassis is very fast," explained Chase post race. "It took a little bit to get used to but we received a ton of help from PSL Karting and they really helped us improve. I can't wait to get on track in Texas with it."
Saturday would see Chase begin his day from inside row thirteen in the 25th starting position before advancing forward to 18th in the prefinal. Looking to score a top fifteen result, the Texan would encounter a technical malfunction that would not allow him to take the green flag in the main event. Not satisfied with the inability to compete, Chase would return to the track Sunday determined and looking for redemption.
Back to the OGP facility for the final event day of the Florida Winter Tour, Chase would qualify his new ride in the 22nd position and quickly move forward in the prefinal to claim a 12th place finish. Aiming for a top-ten finish in the day's main event, Chase would need to settle for a 13th place result after getting shuffled out of position on the opening few laps but having a spirited battle with drivers in the middle of the field.
Supporting both the CRG and OTK product lines, Parker Chase and his team will now set their sights on the Texas ProKart Challenge. Gearing up for a strong performance and solid results, Chase's goal is to attain a ticket to compete in the Rotax Mini Max division at the 2013 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals later this year set to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Not limiting himself to just Rotax competition, Chase will also be behind the wheel of an S5 six-speed gearbox machine as he hones his skills and increases his track time.
Parker will not be the only Chase driver to see action in Texas as older sister Addison will also be behind the wheel. Competing in the TaG Junior ranks, this will be Addison's first event outside of her local club racing and small regional events.
