Continuing their assault on the 2014 Ontario Legends racing series, brothers Nicholas and Cole Ledson were both seen on the podium at the Peterborough Speedway last Saturday. With Nicholas defending his championship title in the series from 2013 and Cole stepping up his game during his sophomore season, both Ledson Motorsports drivers continue to be seen at the front of the pack in the 5/8-scale model car racing action.
After opening their 2014 schedule with strong results, the Ledson duo would be back in action June 15 at the Kawartha Speedway. Both contesting heat one, Nicholas posted a fourth place finish while Cole finished just behind in fifth. Heat three saw Nicholas moved up to the third place with Cole again placing fifth. Looking to claim the win in the feature, Nicholas would have to settle for P2 as Cole dropped back slightly to finish in eighth.
With the June 22 event cancelled, Ledson Motorsports next headed to Peterborough Speedway this past Saturday, July 5. Cole contested heat one and posted an impressive second place result. With Nicholas in heat two, the talented 18-year-old claimed his heat win to start his night off right. Stepping up his game, younger brother Cole claimed the heat three victory as this budding talent continues to refine his skills in only his second year racing cars. Nicholas then matched his brother’s effort, taking the heat four victory. Battling it out in the feature, both would come shy of the win, but place on the podium as Nicholas claimed second and Cole third.
As the Ontario Legends series hits its halfway mark, Nicholas currently sits second in the overall point standings, just two points back from his nearest rival. Cole moved up two positions in the championship ranks, and now sits sixth overall.
Ledson Motorsports will next be on track this Saturday, July 12 at Sunset Speedway in Innisfil, Ontario, where they will also be sponsoring Cavalier Race Night.
