PSL ATLANTIC SET TO CHALLENGE FOR CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES IN FONTANA

PSL Atlantic, along with two of the most revered American karters, are set to contest for championship titles during the upcoming Rotax Challenge of the Americas (COA) event. Alan Rudolph and Fritz Leesmann will enter this weekend's COA finale leading the points in their respective classes and will look to wrap up championship titles and also secure the corresponding Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) invitations. Taking to the CalSpeed Karting circuit in Fontana, California, located outside the Auto Club Speedway, both PSL Atlantic pilots are certain to be on their games battling for more pole positions, race wins and the ultimate prize.

Entering as the defending Rotax DD2 champion, California native Fritz Leesmann was a double victor in the Fontana rounds in 2012. The shifter kart champ has three of four final wins during 2013 COA action to his credit, as his DNF during the Saturday final in Phoenix was his first in nine feature races. Leesmann's combined efforts have him with a 84-point buffer over his nearest rival, and the PSL Atlantic team driver will look to not only continue his winning ways but also be one of the firsts to secure his ticket to New Orleans for the 2013 RMCGF with Team USA.

Fellow PSL Atlantic driver Alan Rudolph also enters with a stranglehold on the championship points. Running his first COA campaign in the Rotax DD2 Masters category, the karting veteran is likely on his way to the championship title and RMCGF berth. Currently with a 112-point lead in the overall points, Rudolph has all but secured the title. Much like Leesmann, Rudolph has three feature wins under his belt in the 2013 COA and the 2012 US Rotax Grand Nationals DD2 Masters champion would like nothing more than to add two more wins and earn his place on Team USA for the second consecutive year.

"The Challenge of the Americas finale is always exciting," explains PSL Atlantic team principal Mike Dobbelsteyn. "To have both Alan and Fritz leading the points in their classes and to have sights set on the overall titles and Rotax Grand Finals tickets only adds to our excitement. Both definitely have what it takes to be champions, and I can't wait to see what plays out on track."

PSL Atlantic team drivers will hit the 3/4-mile, 15-turn CalSpeed complex this week for event practice before official action kicks off Friday, March 8 with controlled practice. Two full event days will follow Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10 with qualifying, prefinals and finals and will commence with the crowning of the 2013 Rotax Challenge of the Americas champions.
