ROGER RALSTON JR. REVIEWS FIRST THREE MONTHS OF 2014

Roger Ralston completed his Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour (FWT) campaign on a high. Running in the top-five on several occasions against some of the world’s best and most talented Rotax drivers, Ralston was able to improve on his 2013 results and now looks forward to the remainder of 2014.

“The winter season was fantastic,” expressed Ralston at the end of the final event weekend in Orlando. “There were some highs and lows, but that is what racing is all about. The hard work is paying off and we can see that in the results.”

Improving from his rookie year in 2013, Ralston switched teams, chassis and engine builders and immediately began to see the progress. Jumping from 20th to ninth in the end of the series championship standings, Ralston showed his speed throughout the series.

Ralston continued, “Running at the front of the field and coming home with top-five results definitely boosted my confidence going into the second quarter of the season. I learned a lot by racing with and against the top drivers from around the world. It definitely helped me on my race craft and qualifying skills.”

Next on the docket for the up and coming Ralston will be the opening round of the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) at the GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina. Teaming up with Kart Sport North America and his long time tuner Benny Small, Ralston will enter the Leopard Pro division in his hunt for victory.

Ralston added, “I am really excited about this event. We have done some testing at the track and on our equipment and really feel we have made strides. A win is definitely my main goal but I also want to continue to learn.”

Recently announced as the fifth ranked Rotax Senior driver in the nation according to eKartingNews.com, Ralston will be a busy driver in the remainder of 2014. With plans to compete in the entire USPKS program as well as the SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour, Rotax Summer Shootout, United States Rotax Max Challenge Grand Nationals and the Rotax Pan American Challenge as well as several testing weekends between events, Ralston looks to stand on the top step of the podium on a few occasions in the next nine months.

Roger Ralston would like to thank Kart Sport North America and Benny Small for helping him develop his skills as a racing driver so far this year. A big thanks also goes out to Directview Security Systems and Roger’s parents for their hard work and continued support.
