SABRÉ COOK CLAIMS SERIES TITLE

Sabré Cook continues her success this season at the final round of the Sofina Foods US Open series in Las Vegas, Nevada. After earning a second place podium finish in the Senior Shifter category at the US Open of Utah, Cook set her sights on clinching the championship title in Vegas. She needed consistency all weekend and a podium finish in the final to pull it off, which is exactly what she did.

After a series of strong finishes in the heat races, including an impressive win, Cook started second for the Senior Shifter final. With a great start, she jumped to an early lead, creating a two second gap between herself and the rest of the field. Cook continued to drive smart and set her focus on securing the championship. At the end of the final, she drove her Energy Kart USA chassis to a second place finish. This phenomenal drive landed Cook on the top step of the championship podium, taking home the 2016 US Open series title.

“I am so happy that the team and I were able to pull this off,” says Cook. “This is such an incredible accomplishment for the Energy Kart USA team and myself. We worked very hard this year and it paid off. Thank you to the Energy Kart USA team, my sponsors, and everyone else who helped get me here. I can’t wait to see what we can do at SuperNats!”

Cook will now turn her attention to preparing for her final race of the season, the SuperKarts! USA SuperNationals in Las Vegas, Nevada. She hopes to continue her Vegas success with another podium finish in the S1 category.
