With the largest contingent in the brand’s history heading west, Top Kart USA will enter thirty-four drivers in one of the world’s largest events. Taking place on the grounds of the RIO All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, the 17th annual Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals is set to be the largest competition in series history and the largest for the Top Kart brand.
Utilizing strategic dealerships and partners from around the country, Grand Products Inc. Top Kart’s United States Importer will join forces with Bill McLaughlin’s Top Kart USA effort, Glenn Araki from PKS Kart Supplies, Bill and Sharon Barros from Empire Karts and Antonio Penna, the Team Manager from the Top Kart Racing factory team to bring a very large and talented contingent to the temporary circuit just off the famous Strip in Vegas.
“I would like to thank the Top Kart dealer network for working together to put the entire program together,” expressed Mike Tetreault. “This is a huge effort and we hope to be able to score some hardware in Vegas.”
Top Kart will enter eleven drivers in the TaG Senior division with veteran competitors Austin Elliott, Bill McLaughlin Jr., Mason Chelootz, Chris Wehrheim and Mark Boos. World Karting Association (WKA) IAME Senior champion Garrett Johnston and twin brother Jake Johnston will also enter the talent-laden division along with Maya Gutierrez, Matt England, German driver Niklas Kry and Italian standout Marco Maestranzi.
Seven Top Kart branded drivers will see action in the TaG Junior ranks led by Mauro Aurrichio. The talented Brazilian has almost scored podiums the past two seasons and will look to improve in 2013 and stand atop the podium. Joining Aurrichio will be United States Pro Kart Series Yamaha Junior champion Zach Holden, multi-time WKA race winner David Malukas and Russians Denis Mavlanov, Nick Ramirez, Josh Early and Tanner Wattenburger.
The largest contingent of Top Kart competitors will come from the TaG Cadet division as eleven competitors will roll blue in the premiere event. SKUSA Pro Kart Series champion Ryan Schartau will be joined by Lance Fendersen, Florida Winter Tour Rotax Micro Max champion Giovanni Bromante, Jonathon Shone, Wyatt Couch, Clayton Williams, Tomas Mejia and Hayden Wagner. Making the trek from overseas will be German pilot Lisa-Marie Mohr and Italy’s Leonardo Marseglia. Both Marsaglia and Wagner attended the ROK Cup for their final tune-up leading into Vegas and scored excellent results.
TaG Master will see WKA Vice-Champion Steve Schiewer aboard a Top Kart as he looks to see how he stacks up against some of the best drivers the nation has to offer over the age of 32. Joining Steve in the Masters division will be Italian driver Tino Donadeli.
With the SuperNats growing to epic proportions in 2013, a pair of Rotax classes were added to the schedule to accommodate the Rotax Junior and DD2 drivers. While Top Kart will not enter the two-speed DD2 ranks, they will have three drivers in the junior category, as Abby McLaughlin and Julia Boos will get behind the wheel of the 125cc, water cooled, electric start engine platform. Joining the female duo will be KKC Champion Colby Dubato.
Top Kart USA’s Blake Diester added, “With the SKUSA SUperNationals being one of the largest, if not the largest event that we attend in the United States, we have gone through many weeks of planning and preparation to hit the track with a spectacular showing under the Top Kart USA tent. Also, with the transporter on site at the event, we have brought everything but the shop walls. We will have spare Top Kart parts, specialty items such as MyChron Data Systems with the new Smarty Cam, Bell Helmets, Top Kart USA apparel, Motul Oil and much more. We will also have our chassis straightening table for any on track incidents.”
Looking forward to the 2014-racing season, Top Kart USA is planning to attend the annual Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour. With a transport truck and a full arrive and drive program, Top Kart USA is welcoming drivers who wish to compete with the premier karting team.
