Continuing a string of successful weekends, Team Top Kart USA took home several trophies at the third round of the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup Series in Dousman, Wisconsin. Team drivers took home four wins and twelve podiums over the course of the weekend at Briggs and Stratton Raceway Park, ensuring that the championship battle continues for the remaining rounds of the popular WKA program.
“Our success in 2015 has been eye opening and satisfying to all of us here at Top Kart USA,” said Blake Deister, co-owner of Top Kart USA. “All of our hard work and preparation before, during and after events, week after week, is really paying off. Our number one goal is to provide our customers with the highest quality of trackside support and service. This is just as important to us as race wins.”
Jason Welage piloted his blue and white kart to the top step of the podium in two of his three main events over the course of the weekend - taking victories in Pro TaG Sportsman and IAME Swift Cup. He was in contention to make it a sweep, but got caught up in some racing incidents in Yamaha Sportsman yet managed to come back to a podium finish crossing the line fourth.
In Pro IAME Junior, all three Top Kart USA entries finished in the top-seven. Zach Holden was up front all weekend, but an unavoidable incident early in the prefinal sent him to the back of the field for the start of the main event. He fought his way through the pack for a fourth place finish. JP Southern Jr. and Abby McLaughlin finished fifth and seventh respectively and showed great speed all weekend long.

Alexander Kardashian was consistently fast on Saturday and Sunday, taking pole in Pro X30 Senior but fell just outside the top-three in the main event to finish fourth. Also competing in Pro Leopard Senior, Kardashian was also able to bring home a seventh place result.
In Pro TaG Sportsman, Kaden Wharff and Connor Ferris added to Top Kart USA’s strong results, finishing fifth and sixth respectively.
Top Kart USA dominated the Swift Cup podium and placed six drivers in the top-12. Jason Welage won, with Connor Ferris coming home third and Tyler Ferris finishing fourth. Owen Mahle, Eli Trull and Elliot Cox took spots 10, 11 and 12. Mahle, Cox and Trull also showed speed in Yamaha Rookie. Mahle came home sixth. Cox and Trull finished eighth and eleventh, respectively.
In Yamaha Senior, Dakota Pesek drove his Top Kart to a podium finish, crossing the line in the second position.

In Yamaha Junior, JP Southern Jr. dominated the weekend, qualifying on pole and claiming the checkers in the main event. Zach Holden and Austin Schultz also had strong finishes, placing in the top-15.
“This is what we have been striving for all year,” said JP Southern, father of JP Junior. “We continue to look forward with our momentum from this race and we hope add many more victories to our 2015 resume, with a championship in our sights. We can’t thank team Top Kart USA and Kristina Vorndran enough for their hard work and efforts getting us to the front with zero flaws all weekend.”
In Yamaha Sportsman, all four Top Karts finished inside the top-20, with Jason Welage in fourth and Tyler Ferris in eighth. Teammates Emil Schultz and Kyle Ford were also consistently fast over the course of the weekend and will be a threat for podium results as the season continues.
Benjamin Maier was one of only two Top Karts in the Kid Kart class and made a statement with his first WKA national victory this weekend. Danny Dyszelski IV had the second fastest lap of the final event and brought his blue and white machine home in thirteenth.

“We are proud of our team and all Top Kart drivers in the paddock this weekend for their excellent effort and performances,” said Bill McLaughlin Jr., co-owner of Top Kart USA. “Seeing many Top Kart drivers within the top-five and earning podiums is a great feeling of accomplishment to us. It’s great to know that we have helped them achieve their goals at the national level of kart racing.”
