Coming off their best weekend of the 2016 season, Audi Sport customer racing program (AScr), M1 GT Racing will travel to the ‘Dairy State’ for Pirelli World Challenge competition at the famed Road America facility. Located just outside of the quaint town Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, M1 GT Racing will look to carry the momentum gained from a double podium outing at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park less than one month ago.
“We had a great event in Canada and learned a lot with two cars running the new PWC Sprint X program,” explained M1 GT Racing Technical Director Remi Lanteigne. “David Ostella and Dion von Moltke had great runs and managed to stand on the podium twice in two days while Walt Bowlin improved his driving and aggressiveness two fold as he teamed with driver coach Guy Cosmo. With the data gathered from two cars and the experience gained by drivers, we are pushing forward with the rest of the 2016 season with our goals set high.”
Walt Bowlin will enter his talents in the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) GTA class as he will look to take full advantage of the power and handling of his 2016 Audi R8 LMS. Competing under the watchful eye of driver coach Guy Cosmo, Bowlin will be in the hunt for podium results and build upon the M1 GT Racing resume.
“I love Road America and can’t wait to get on track,” expressed Bowlin. “I was able to take a lot from our event at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park and am ready to put that knowledge to good use. The M1 GT Racing crew is the hardest working and most professional team in the paddock and I am happy to be able to be part of their magnificent program.”
M1 GT Racing will make the trek north to Wisconsin from their home base in Brooksville, Florida and take part in the unofficial promoter’s test day on Thursday, June 23rd and official practice on Friday, June 24th. Saturday will see qualifying in the morning with the first of two races coming Saturday afternoon and the second on Sunday morning.
M1 GT Racing will post results, information and behind the scenes looks from Road America on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter social media pages. Also, be sure to find the live stream and live timing link on the M1 GT Racing website as soon as it becomes available.
M1 GT Racing would like to thank all of their 2016 partners and supporters. A special thank you to Audi Sport customer racing, Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery, Surgery Centers of America, Spyder Active Sports Wear and SkndSkins.
